The case and crew of Bill & Ted face The Music are now one month into filming the third installment of the popular franchise in New Orleans. On Friday, the movie's leading man, Keanue Reeves looked almost unrecognizable when he stepped out of his trailer decked out in a full beard and mohawk hairdo.
He was also dressed in dark denim blue jeans and black patterned sneakers. It's been nearly 30 years since the Bill & Ted franchise last hit theaters with Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey in 1991. The long-awaited film also comes after nearly a decade of false starts in development.
The film's original writers, Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, have penned the film and Dean Parisot of Galaxy Quest fame is set to direct. Just days earlier, Winter was spotted on the set, without Reeves, shooting a scene that showcased some of the most famous musicians of all-time.
Now 54, Winter was in casual-mode dressed in black jeans and a blue t-shirt as he walked with what appeared to be a script in his right hand. While he was getting ready behind-the-scenes, director Dean Parisot was working on the scene of musical masters.
Ted's daughter, Billie Logan (Brigette Lundy-Paine) and Bill's daughter Thea Preston, (Samara Weaving) were also on hand Wednesday, as well as Bill's wife Joanna (Jayma Mays. In this latest adventure, Bill and Ted endure the monotony of middle-aged life as they come to grips with the realization that they didn't change the world with the music of their band the Wyld Stallyns.
Eventually they receive a warning by a visitor from the future of the need for them to create a song that will save all life and the universe. The dynamic-duo then go on to work with their families, old friends, and famous musicians to complete the task at hand.
Fans may recall in the hit original film, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989), the guys were barely proficient with their instruments. But in the sequel, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991), the film explains how they became rock gods.
Fans will have to wait and see where they stand now as fifty-somethings. Bill & Ted Face The Music is slated to hit theaters August 21, 2020.
